WHEN WE THINK OF AN ACORN WE THINK OF A SMALL NUT, A SMALL NUT WITH ENORMOUS POTENTIAL, THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME AN OAK TREE, A MAJESTIC TREE OF GIGANTIC PROPORTIONS. SO, WE FEEL THAT THE NAME ACORN IS THE PERFECT FIT TO THIS EXTREMELY TALENTED YOUNG ARTIST. ACORN IS ORIGINALLY FROM CANADA BUT HAS SPENT HIS LAST SIX MONTHS WORKING IN MELBOURNE ON A BODY OF  WORK THAT MUST BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED.

GORKER GALLERY IS PROUD TO PRESENT “MY KINGDOM, NOT YOURS”  A COLLECTION OF WORK FROM CANADIAN BORN ARTIST ACORN. HIS WORK IS DESCRIBED AS A SELF NARRATIVE BASED UPON A WORLD OF COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS, DEPICTING NO SPECIFIC CULTURE OR RELIGION. HE WORKS IN WATER COLOUR AND INKS CREATING EXTREMELY INTIMATE ILLUSTRATIONS THAT WE KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE. RECENTLY ACORN HAS SPENT TIME FORGING AN ALLIANCE WITH MELBOURNE ARTISTS NIOR AND GHOST PATROL AS THE ‘TRIFORCE ADVANCE’ SO IF HIS ASSOCIATES ARE ANYTHING TO GO BY HE IS GOING TO BE A SERIOUS HIT WITH THE NATIVES. Gorker Gallery is proud to present ‘While you Sleep’, a collaborative exhibition of artworks by
Cat-Rabbit and Ghostpatrol. This pair have worked together over the past 4 years combing their thoughts of drawing and sewing. While you Sleep presents a collection of recent soft sculptures by Cat Rabbit created from illustrations by Ghostpatrol and exhibited together in this unique and wonderful collection of hand made works.
