It’s time to transcend. It’s time to blow your frontal lobes right offa your scalps! How many ears do you need to hear it? How many eyes do you need to see it! The Mad Bionix are playing NOW! Freq on to the NAWLZ for the madness! Harley and Jonnie-jon have got a Deadlight loaded with multiple brain-circuitry maps to complete the trip, as well as a rainbow of wilberforce, snappys and binders, all the sensory enhancing drugs you could possible need to ensure your mind’s catapulted into another perceptual dimension! It’s time to Get Bionic!

I highly recommend going fullscreen with speakers cranked! – sutu

News from Rotterdam !

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Just had a chat with my pal and amazing artist, Yusk . Who´s in Holland / Rotterdam to paint an enormous building with some other brazilian artists such as Ramon Martins and Dalata.

I went to Yusk´s blog  to find more about this project and all we can see so far is some shots of the exterior ready to be painted and the blueprint of the building, that used to be a factory but now is a building filled with design offices and advertising agencies inside.

The red marked part is where he´s supposed to be painting in a few days. Can´t wait to see it done!

And still on his blog you´ll see a historical shot of him and … guess who ???

Martha Cooper !!! Who´s touring all around  to promote and to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the legendary book Subway Art by Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant !

Still in Rotterdam, she went to the Street Science Festival and put up some amazing shots of it on her blog at the 12ozprophet website.

bcooper6486-600x370 ” While Street Science workshops, panels and battles were happening inside Watt, artists from around
the world were painting the wall outside the building. ”

mcooper2 “Only problem—permission had been requested but
not granted. Apparently some neighborhood residents called the cops.”

mcooper “(…) Painting continued. Round one goes to: artists!”

“…the 2nd annual Street Science festival organized
by Hip Hop Huis. This year’s theme celebrated the past, present and future of Hip Hop through
performances, workshops, battles, panels and after parties. ”

“Hip Hop’s founding father, DJ Kool Herc rocked the house ‘til da break of dawn at the Brand New
Old School Party held at Watt on Saturday night, the highlight of the Street Science Festival.”

Words and photos by Martha Cooper.

Stephen Ives open studio

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Melbourne based scuplor, tinkerer and artist opened his studio last week to guest in order to give a preview of his latest show bound for Adco:Venue in Copenhagen. Based around the rampaging exploits of a disassociated Pooh bear, the collection featured some awesome model of war machines at key moments of the bears blitzkrieg, painting and sketches outlining the story as well as a murder mystery to boot.

A proper studio should look just like this.

The story starts with Robin coldly dissing Pooh and his pals. At this point Pooh’s world falls apart and the genocidal war against the honey bees begins.

Yoshinori Kanada. RIP

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

The world is now a little duller. Legendary super animator Yoshinori Kanada died yesterday of a heart attack. Kanada’s career included animation master pieces such as Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro as well as Final Fantasy and countless other classic series and movies.

Suitably, here’s a tribute AMV, sorry about the background music.

Cognitive Dissident.
