Lush opened his debut show last Friday at Backwoods, true to his form he’s polarized the community, offended the weak of stomach, got a few laughs and managed to fill gallery with more dicks and cunts than ever before thought possible.

One of our favorite people to paint walls with has got to be Greg CRAOLA Simkins!
When ever we all paint together we just have such a great time..and usually come out with a really interesting end result!
For a while now we have been talking with Greg about trying out a character wall where we used spray paint..but also tried out adding acrylic paint and brush work.
Myself and Greg are from a pretty similar era in Graffiti, both starting in the early to mid 90’s.(Greg maybe a little earlier!)
And even though Greg is from LA and we where in Melbourne, there was definitely the same vibe that Graffiti writers dont use brushes!
It was always viewed as bad form, so its something that none of us have ever really tried.
But its a new millennium now…and rules dont apply!
It was really great to take a lot of elements that the 3 of us would use in graffiti with spray paint..but then balance that out with the elements that we all use in our paintings with brushes.
Really happy with the outcome….hope to do a lot more of it in the future.
Big thanks to the LA Freewalls Project for hooking us up with a super smooth spot in Downtown LA!
LONG LIVE THE YELLOW FIN…

Askew had the idea to paint a wall based on the phrase “Only Time Will Tell”.
And running a theme of the 4 season along the wall in order, with each season with each word.
-The assignment went as follows..

DABS/MYLA/SCORE: Spring, With SCORE on letter detail painting “TIME”
REVOK/RIME: Summer, REVOK on letter/background detail painting “WILL”
