You Are Here, by Dave Kinsey is currently showing at Alice Gallery in Brussels. In my humblest of opinion, Kinsey is one of our generations greatest artists whose development has been too often overlooked in the blog-o-spherical white noise of our culture. I mean, just look at that shit, its so mad.
Kinseys newest show is a collection of striking paintings with strong movement complimented by a contrasting pallet of reds and blue. So dope.
“In this series of paintings I explore the chaos and consequence of modern culture and its effects on the human population in terms of personal voids, balance and the uniformity of the individual. I’m specifically interested in cultural adaptation and in perceptions of the necessities of survival, real and magined. I present the figure in a fragmented form to put emphasis on the disembodiment of our true identities using compositions in red to convey a sense of tension and blue to evoke a feeling of balance — in this context, I especially enjoy the fact that these are complementary colors.”

FAR AND AWAY.
No Vacancy Gallery Presents: Far & Away.
New Works by Melbourne Artists Nior.
Nior has been working as an artist for 4 years, and no Vacancy would like to present his first ever solo show.
Nior (formaly known as Junior) has been creating art ever since he can remember.
Born in the hills of Melbourne, Nior‘s characters are influenced by the native creatures he sees everyday and what he finds in his imagination. He began putting his artwork around the streets in 2004 and since then he has refined his characters and transformed them into many hairy shapes and sizes.
As his first show, Far and Away will be an introduction to the styles that he has developed working on the streets and for numerous group shows over the past 4 years.
Thanks to Red Bull, the U.K artist, designer, graffer, famous for his highly stylized letter form SheOne will be coming to Australia for the No Comply Melbourne exhibition, so we’ve teamed him up with local lad Meggs for a live painting show the night after the launch.
SheOne and Meggs will be live painting at the yet to be named new venue near Victoria market in Melbourne city, for what will be a dope exhibition of the two artists styles and a huge party.
More news, NSW show, ect, later.
I caught our homeboy Meggs preparing for his show Own Worst Enemy which opens this Thursday at Don’t Come Gallery here in Melbourne.
Thanks for having us down Everfresh. Lots of juicy photos to come.
Keep it locked.
