Running off the back of last years successful charity event, the second installment of the show will once again feature the works of up and coming young Australian artists using the blank canvases of Skateboards and Snowboards to display their expressions.
Artists have donated their pieces and all proceeds raised through the sales will once again go the CHILL organization. A non-profit organization that takes under privileged youth to our snowy mountains for a week of adventure and learning.
Occasionally a brand comes along which is based on a premise so solid that it practically writes its own history. A brand where every release makes perfect sense and seems to be a natural synthesis of current trends and the original idea.
Melbourne’s B.BOT DEFENSE SYSTEMS INCORPORATED is exactly such a brand, more human than human, bringing together the history of robot, androids and cyborgs and the history of street wear, to make one of the best brands i’ve seen. Here’s some of the latest pieces to go up on Nice.

Hey people, here’s reminder that Camo has another Dubstep event on tomorrow night, featuring none other than Loefah with Pritchard and Spacek on the support. Get in there before it becomes “cool”, even better get in there before 9-10 and smashit with us on $1 beer then yell like fools when he drops Disko Rekah.
Also if your out tonight Camo and Pritchard are playing at Workshop, think they’re planning on some funk, afro brazil, and rare grooves, but who knows.
Props to Drew for the flyer. See you there.
Douglas Haddow posted an essay on the Ad Buster site, dramatically titled : Hipsters : The Dead End of Western Civilization. He seems to be making the point that commercially packaged counter culture for middle class kids is something new, it ain’t. Outside of that and the cranky overtones its a summary of the cliches and foibles of these wacky kids is causing some amount of controversy on both sides of the fence and is worth reading.
