The artists SLIKS, ENIVO & JERRY are putting together a collective exhibition of their unique, and still unified, artwork.

 “UNI -VERSES”

Oppening : February 12th at 8 p.m.

The collective exhibition “Uni-verses” comes with the purpouse of unifying the “universe” created by each artist through themes in common, such as: energy, love, infinity, timeless and nature.

 Sliks on the streets.

Resulting in “verses” expressed through visual poetic portrayed individually by each artist, each with its own characteristics and composition technique.

 Enivo on the streets.

Taking aim to build a harmonius enviroment and pleasant to the eyes of the observers that comes to gaze upon the exhibition, departing from the mundane present to an infinite imaginary “universe”.

A big up to all the members of the 321 crew ! ” Break a leg”, guys !

And as a bonus, I got to watch a ‘live painting’ by the masters!

This is another part of that wall on my previous post that they painted on that day…..as I was sitting there, drinking beer, taking some photos while the guys did all the hard work! Isn´t that nice ?!

Musta – such a young guy doing such incredible paintings… it´s surreal to watch him doing it ! One of my favourite artists here and one of our best ones too, definetely !

Nick – from lettering to drawing…he´s dope! An amazing artist and such an admirable person! Who has been a great reference for a lot of guys on the brazilian’s graffiti scene.

They decided to go with gold on this section…

And I absolutely looooved it !!!

It´s Carnival time in Brazil !

Which means: 4 days to party hard,watch parades and dance ‘samba’ !

…or for these 2 great guys and amazing artists called Nick & Musta is to enjoy a sunny day, drink as many beers as we can and paint until the sun comes down ! 

So they invited me into their hood … to see a project they did with their friends, last year, that consisted in dividing a huge wall in 8  panels painted only in black, white and red.

Artists from the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in NYC came to Brazil for an exhibition that’s happening at Choque Cultural Gallery in Sao Paulo.

It was a ‘big deal’ because is not everyday that we have here such names as :

The one that I was eagering to see the most, after hearing so much about his work and his OBEY! Giant campaign, which makes so much sense to me…”The medium is the message.” !

Nice work with the fluorescents colors. It even made my eyes get a little crazed.

His characters reminds me of my childhood.

-Jeff Soto-

Who were my personal favorite of the expo. And had other great canvas like the one with ‘egg-shaped-spacey-monsters’  and the panaromic one.

The closest you got the furthest you went.

His wood pieces were amazing. 

And among them some brazilians made me proud with their great art, like JACA. 

And his funny ‘world’.

So, I went there…and I saw some great paintings :

But talking about ‘STREET art’ the one who really caught my eyes was the brazilian artist called  BUGRE :                          

“Sputum” …if you’re wondering about the name: here is why!  

 And “Tamires”.  The skull detail on the shoulder is great!

He really did an amazing job taking his street’s style to the canvas.

Just so you know what I´m talking about:

Yesterday I went to a cultural center for the young community , which had an exhibition of URBAN TIPOGRAPHY , with walls painted by some of our best graffiti writers :

Done by NEM – A master in “dope letters” style !

Done by ICONE – A piece lover ! Who organized the whole thing.

This project had the purpose of introducing Urban Tipography such as 3d , wild style , semi wild style(piece) , bomb , grapixo e pixação ( these last 2 are originally from Brazil/SP).

Done by BRAVOS – Grapixo :born in Brazil , it  says : ” Sao Paulo is like that…” !

 Yes, it is ! …and we´re proud of it!
