JERRY

He’s known as an ‘old school’ artist and belongs to the second generation of graffiti. 

And in his long trajectory, mostly in the south region of Sao Paulo, he believes in his educational responsibility and justifies the graffiti as a transformation. And by doing so influencing a new generation that acts with strenght in the region.

His paintings shows the pleasent harmony between elements of the essence and his imaginary , where the fragments are portrayed through portals watched by a guardian. 

Associating this ludic universe with the enviroment that surrounds him.

He´s one of my favorite artists here… and he´s too modest to admit that he is a legend around here ! He has everyone´s respect and if you ever have the chance to meet him, you´ll be meeting one of the nicest and kindest people in the whole world.

No wonder why his works are more than beautifull to look at…it´s just a beautifull feeling you get looking at them. Jerry´s work is pure love.

Coming up …Uni-versos oppening night !

So this weekend I went to OsGemeos’ hood (Cambuci) , which is such a magical place to me and I´ve been wanting to share it with the Nice Produce crew and viewers since I started posting here…so it´s my pleasure to take you on a tour around the streets where the geniuses lives.

 First I saw this old one ….pay attention to the yellow background with these faces on it..so beautiful!

Next to it there was a NIGGAZ’s graffiti, he´s a legend around here, painted like no one before or after him ever did ! He´s no longer here, in this place we are…he´s in a much better one (R.I.P. master) !

Then I got to the school they painted with other artists like ISE and Nunca.

And I just stood there with my mouth oppened even though that was the second time I saw it I just couldn´t believe my eyes…again!

My personal favorite, NINA (who also lives there) .

One of my favorite walls, the first graffiti from Nina  I´ve ever seen which I imediately fell in love with, and also the day I discovered Os Gemeos too.     

I was a bit lost…and couldn´t remember where was the street where they actually lived…until I saw this on the corner :

I just loved how the ‘pixos’ works as a frame to these one.

I was so glad to be there…to know a piece of the enviroment that surronds them which I´m pretty sure has to do a lot with the paintings they do.

São Paulo has a very strong street culture and they became a huge refference in that sense and they keep making it stonger here and around the globe .

Then I walk ahead a little more and from the corner I could see this wonderfull wall with this so amazing colors…

Take a look at the whale on detail…the eye is so impressive.

I couldn´t get a photo of the whole wall but this is part of the mural .

He´s the guy who just can´t quit being fresh … he keeps coming with a little something new to add into his dope stuff everytime.
And here´s a taste of his new flavour …

The huge ‘Mystic Man’ character that he did on a tunnel on the most famous avenue of Sao Paulo.

Yes, he did a special something to the photos….and that´s his inspiration for trying it on the walls.

So he did that with a blacklight and some fluor paint.

That´s the wall of the collective show, Uni-versos, he did here and it was a great success and I´ll be posting here very soon.

That´s my main man, partner, brother that I appreciate so much his friendship, his talent, his incredible and beautiful heart and mind !

I´m a big fan of Sliks since the day I met him…my mentor, the one who showed me what this was all about… I got nothing but a lotta love for you,man !

So, one more weekend passed us by…and while I was curing myself from a bad bad hangover some people were out there on the streets doing so many productive things, that I don´t even feel jealous…because I was paying the price for being nice…gotta learn to say “NO”, sometimes…really!

But these guys, FEIK and NEM, one of the most active people I know did something, not just productive…see for yourself what THEY did on the streets that day :

 The skull on the top was the coolest final touch to it!

 The whole thing finished up…one of the most beautiful works and wall I´ve seen lately!

Everything worked out so great together, loved the pinks and reds…you guys rocked it out ! I´m a big fan of their works!

Nem made letters become such beautiful ‘drawings’ fitting anywhere, with that incredible movements that his letters do. And Feik is amazing with his worms and other characters that he do, he’s awesome with the backgrounds too, mixing up the colors so softly.

So, when they get together you´ll be amazed everytime…no doubt about that…wanna try ?

There I was…passing by one of the busiest avenues of Sao Paulo…when I see this huuuuge wall with some biiiig and beauuutiful letters on it…

As I was getting closer…I just couldn´t believe that someone could do that in that place and not get caught…or even care to spend their energy and material to do that…but when I saw those letters I got it!

DEM is for ‘Destruction In Mass’ ! They fight for their space and their right to express themselves and their arts through drawings and letters on the walls. And that´s why they’re so important for the graffiti scene! 

Because we´re going through a kind of ‘silent war’ here…our city mayor began a campaign called “Clean City” which means that HE thinks that our great city would be a lot better without the graffitis and pixos…

Now imagine yourself living in SP, walking on the street and seeing graffitis from OsGemeos, for example, everyday and than one day…you see this hideous color overpainted on their graffiti !?

Yeah…you won´t feel so hapyy ! I know it…I feel this everyday !

But people like Dion and Evol makes me feel happy again !!! And all the graffiti artists who keeps coming back and making our city so wonderfull to see and more beautiful to live in !

The artists SLIKS, ENIVO & JERRY are putting together a collective exhibition of their unique, and still unified, artwork.

 “UNI -VERSES”

Oppening : February 12th at 8 p.m.

The collective exhibition “Uni-verses” comes with the purpouse of unifying the “universe” created by each artist through themes in common, such as: energy, love, infinity, timeless and nature.

 Sliks on the streets.

Resulting in “verses” expressed through visual poetic portrayed individually by each artist, each with its own characteristics and composition technique.

 Enivo on the streets.

Taking aim to build a harmonius enviroment and pleasant to the eyes of the observers that comes to gaze upon the exhibition, departing from the mundane present to an infinite imaginary “universe”.

This is another part of that wall on my previous post that they painted on that day…..as I was sitting there, drinking beer, taking some photos while the guys did all the hard work! Isn´t that nice ?!

Musta – such a young guy doing such incredible paintings… it´s surreal to watch him doing it ! One of my favourite artists here and one of our best ones too, definetely !

Nick – from lettering to drawing…he´s dope! An amazing artist and such an admirable person! Who has been a great reference for a lot of guys on the brazilian’s graffiti scene.

They decided to go with gold on this section…

And I absolutely looooved it !!!
