You Are Here, by Dave Kinsey is currently showing at Alice Gallery in Brussels. In my humblest of opinion, Kinsey is one of our generations greatest artists whose development has been too often overlooked in the blog-o-spherical white noise of our culture. I mean, just look at that shit, its so mad.
Kinseys newest show is a collection of striking paintings with strong movement complimented by a contrasting pallet of reds and blue. So dope.
“In this series of paintings I explore the chaos and consequence of modern culture and its effects on the human population in terms of personal voids, balance and the uniformity of the individual. I’m specifically interested in cultural adaptation and in perceptions of the necessities of survival, real and magined. I present the figure in a fragmented form to put emphasis on the disembodiment of our true identities using compositions in red to convey a sense of tension and blue to evoke a feeling of balance — in this context, I especially enjoy the fact that these are complementary colors.”

I wanna give props to the Everfresh Crew. Thanks again for having us down on Friday.
I was thinking about your studio over the weekend, how it’s a hive of creativity, how some of the best artwork and ideas on the planet are conceived in a studio in this very city, by artists who live and breathe Melbourne.
The statements being made (like the one above) about “Banning the Can” are on point, and I wanna give props to Everfresh for flying the flag. All of you have contributed so much to Melbourne, whether it be with your talent, and most importantly, positive contributions and attitude.
So many people take your work for granted.
Whether it be photography by tourists, photography by locals, work being published uncredited in tourism documents and on the telly… we know it’s downright plagiarism, keep your heads up, we support you.
I urge all of you reading this to get the Everfresh Blog in your daily feeds and support Melbourne’s biggest asset.
PEACE.
Thanks to Red Bull, the U.K artist, designer, graffer, famous for his highly stylized letter form SheOne will be coming to Australia for the No Comply Melbourne exhibition, so we’ve teamed him up with local lad Meggs for a live painting show the night after the launch.
SheOne and Meggs will be live painting at the yet to be named new venue near Victoria market in Melbourne city, for what will be a dope exhibition of the two artists styles and a huge party.
More news, NSW show, ect, later.
Seeing as Krinks in this years No Comply lineup i thought i’d post a recent video from the his Site. Enjoy.

Whether you love or hate this fixed gear “fixocalypse”, you can’t go past this blog, 2V. Two dudes, Cedrik & Viktor, team up with Eastpak to deliver one of the better photo projects I’ve seen in a long, long time.
High contrast B&W, clever use of fish-eye lenses and quality compositions.
After being in a city for 10 years, you sometimes lose your inspiration to shoot, however it’s photography like this that inspires me to pick up my cameras and shoot all weekend. I’m gonna be staring at these all day. Big ups.
