I’m back in NYC for a little while working. It’s been hard for me to get out during the week, but on the weekends I get to explore. What’s better than exploring? Exploring with Sutu (NiceProduce.com designer, and the guy behind Nawlz.com). Dope.

I’ve been too busy to keep up with what’s going on, but Sutu had the hookups. The photo above is Sutu shooting the Graffiti Hall of Fame (currently up on 106th and Park Ave). I’ll show you some more details once I get the join up together. We were planning to head out to 5 Points but by the time we finished all our beer, the sun was going down, so we decided to hit up Harlem instead.

So we hit Harlem for some soul food (currently the best meal I’ve had in the city, though probably not the healthiest). Harlem was at time warp. Current fashion craze is 80’s hip-hop, Spike Lee flick, DeLaSoul and Run DMC hits. It truely has got it going on. I will go back with my camera and show you all what it’s all about.

The other 2 shot above are from a spot in China Town. Totally bombed. It’s great to be back in a city with dirty walls. Stockholm (where I live) is clean as a whistle and has a zero tolerance for graffiti. There is a law (if you can call it that) that says if there is graffiti on your walls or on the train, then it must be removed within 24 hours. While NYC is a lot cleaner than the last time I was here, there’s definitely character and the charm of it’s graffiti history on every block.

I’ll be serving more updates as time goes on. This week I’m hitting up Krink’s studio for a chat and shoot for an upcoming interview. Sneak peaks only found on Grassroots, bitches.

Peace.

Yo. I know this is a little late for NY howzits, but, howzit?

I just got back from Berlin, man, what an unbelievable city you cats got. I have to get back to explore some more, 4 days of parties and hangovers did me no justice.

I dropped in on our Berlin retailer Van Liebling, and was happy to see the Meggs x Orko & Nice Classic T’s in the front window. Mr Van Liebling himself was running things on NYE of all days, and invited us into his world for one hell of a NYE party. No photos, and no questions.

Cop a few flicks of Van Liebling over in Berlin.

What’s up Nice people. It’s Karl, checking in from my new home in Scandinavia, where we keep the beer outside and frozen.

I haven’t been so busy on the Grassroots side of things for a while as I’ve just moved to Stockholm. I’ve been here for 4 weeks and have spent every second getting acquainted with my new work peeps and getting out to meet the city. I love Stockholm.

The fashion here is second only to Tokyo. It’s a 1930’s Hugo Boss / Louis Vuitton catalog. Stockholm also just got rated the world’s most sexiest city, so double that up with some precision fashion choices and bang. See, a little self love goes a long way, it’s always worth the effort. 🙂

The street art here is minimal, though there are plenty of galleries and talented artists. I visited the University Artist Market and was blown away by the creativity. I guess spending 3/4 of your life indoors and in the dark can work wonders with your imagination.

I’m off to Germany next week, I’ll be on the hunt for some serious works. Flicks and more updates to come now that I’m a little more settled. If you’re ever up this way, give me a hollar, we’ll go drinking.

As for Nice 2.0, well, let’s say that all of our designers have let us down. We’re working on it, if you want the job done right, you have to do it yourself. It’s the Nice way of life.

Peace from the North.

Back in Tokyo

Hello fellow NicePeoples. I’m back in Tokyo on my way to my new home in Stockholm. Kinda picked a bad time to be back as the Yen is killing everything. So I figure, less shop, more drinking & eating. It can’t be all bad.

I dropped by Supreme in Daikanyama as a friend of mine was after a new jacket. As you may already know, XL anything in Japan is rare, and you have to hunt for it. When we pulled up, I noticed our mark had already been made.

Anyone want to fess up?

Tomorrow I’m going to see DJ Krush at the Liquid Room. The master of hip-hop is doing a charity gig for the children of Africa, and it’s going to be off the hook. So all our Japanese readers, get down.

On the topic of Krush, we got news of a new collab coming soon… ooh!

More updates soon, time to get amongst it. There’s a fair few Melbournites who coincidently have landed the same time as me and we’re going to smash it at Sonpub’s Album Launch after a visit to an izakaya.

Also, I’m talking to our NiceProduce Japanese wholesale correspondent, things on the boil. News of that once it’s cooked up.

Japan rules.

A Nice afternoon…

The Nice family got together for a BBQ and a few Asahi’s, and one rad bottle of sake.

Keep fresh, stay legendary. Next post will be from Japan… NiceProduce is officially worldwide.

It started like this:

And ended like this:

I’d like to thank Stalactites for helping me avoid a crucial hangover, and also to Alex for the awesome food fight there after. No photos of that. Till next time, stay sharp.

THANK YOU AMERICA!

I used to tape this every time it came on Channel V when I was growing up. I once dropped it at ANYTIME and some chick came outta nowhere… “is that Buckshot LeFonque!”… then ran off. Never got to catch up and yarn about these cats.

Get schooled.
